I've spent the past 4 years writing my book, which documents many ideas and solutions, as well as my activism over the past 11 years. However, I've been homeless and very poor lately, while I've been adventuring. But I've had plans to build a Zero Emission, Energy Independent, and Disaster Resistant Super Adobe home for 9 years. On a very Happy note... I finally had my first Book Signing! It was on Saturday 4/24/10 at the Narrow Gauge Newsstand in Alamosa, Colorado and there was a good turn out. I will be having more book signings soon and will let you know when and where the next one will be.

I have been saying for years that water should be a basic Human Right, and that in order to save the Planet and Humanity from Hunger, Thirst, and Climate Change, everyone needs to choose People over Profit, and make water available to everyone.
So I am very happy to see that yesterday the UN voted to make Water and Sanitation basic Human Rights. http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=35456&Cr=SANITATION&Cr1=
Now we that the world has finally collectively decided the obvious, we need to make that a reality for everyone.
I was totally disappointed to see the the USA, Canada and other nations did not vote for this resolution. They did so to protect people who want to exploit and own water resources. I am not opposed to people getting rich, I just think that corporations and people should not be able to own Water. They can get rich off of building water pipelines, desalination plants, or water treatment plants, with out owning the water the flows through them.
But over all this is an Historic Day and one that we all should applaud, work to make real, and to build upon.

This Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and all Oil spills are totally unnecessary, because we don't need Oil.
There is more Hydrogen in the Oceans that are around all every nation, than all the Oil, Coal, or Uranium in the world. We can use Hydrogen to run our cars, factories, homes, and power plants, today. If we only made using the abundant and zero emission technologies of Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind, a priority, we wouldn't need to use Oil, Coal, or Nuclear, or have Oil spills or wars for Oil.
This Oil spill is the result of bad oversight of the US Government and BP, but it is also the Green people's fault!
A lot of Green people have been talking about "Efficiency" as their main weapon against Climate Change. They are totally wrong and this spill proves it. By focusing on efficiency and still using Oil and Coal slightly less, it has taken people's eye off the ball. Because "efficiency" is not what is killing the planet, pollution is.
Those Birds and our Beaches are not covered with Efficiency! They are covered with Oil Pollution. Also Efficiency is not giving your kids asthma, Coal emissions are.
We have been putting our brains, time, and money on finding ways to continue use Oil and Coal, instead of putting our brains, time, and money on using existing technology to become 100% zero emission. That is why we are still talking about changing stupid light bulbs - 40 years after the start of Earth Day!
If we all were energy independent, energy abundant, and zero emission, it would not matter if we wasted energy or if we used it inefficiently!
President Obama and other people are only talking about "reducing" emissions not eliminating them, and only using domestic Oil instead of foreign Oil, 80% by 2050. This is a very stupid goal and because it doesn't do anything to save the planet, because even after waiting for another 40 years we will still be polluting.
If you were covered with Oil, would you rather have 10 or 20% less Oil on you, or would you rather have 100% less Oil on you? Do you want to be fully Clean, or just Cleaner?
Do you want our beaches only 20% cleaned up? or would you rather they be 100% cleaned and restored?
Do you want only 10-20% less Oil spills? , or would you rather have 100% less Oil spills?
If someone was poisoning your children, would only reduce the rate they were poisoning them, by 20% over 13 years, or would you slap it out of their hand and stop them from poisoning your children, 100%, right now?
We have to stop being satisfied with Green baby steps, spineless goals, efficiency, and only reducing the rate we pollute ourselves.
We can and we must go all the way and Go Clear with Zero Pollution, because as we all can see from this Gulf Oil spill, our economy, our ways of life, our food supply, our air and water quality, and the future of Humanity and the Planet, depends on it.

Todd Norman Has Ideas to Save the Planet Including a Role for Hydrogen

Recently, I had the pleasure of communicating with Todd Norman, author of Ideas to Save the Planet. I put a few questions to him about the role of hydrogen. Here is the question and answer session:
HydroKevin (HK): What is your vision of a global conversion to a hydrogen economy especially concerning the building of an H2 transportation system?
Todd Norman (TN): My vision for global conversion to Hydrogen is similar to Roy McAlister’s. I’m advocating for his idea of converting existing cars to burn Hydrogen, because converted cars clean the pollution that is already in the air as you drive. I still like fuel cell cars, but I just agree that we should use what we have and not only stop polluting, but also clean up the old pollution. My ideas are for the current emission testing places to be converted to Hydrogen conversion centers, as well as for auto mechanics to be trained to convert cars, and for all trains, planes, and boats to be converted as well.
HK: How do you envision using hydrogen, solar and wind energy to complement one another to their full capacity?
TN: I see it as a triple back-up. If we all had Solar panels, Wind generators, a back-up Hydrogen fuel cell, and batteries in our homes, we would all be energy independent, energy abundant, and zero emission. If it’s not sunny, it’s usually windy, and it can be windy at night, and in the winter when it’s neither, you can use the fuel cell. We can generate our own Hydrogen with Solar, Wind, and Water and therefore the consistent Hydrogen fuel solves the inconsistency of Solar and Wind.
HK: What do you mean by Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars are the Real Deal Hybrids?
TN: Gasoline Hybrids still pollute. We need to stop being satisfied with Going Green and only “reducing emissions” and we have to go all the way and Go Clear, to 100-percent 0 emissions. As far as I know, Fuel Cell cars are electric cars with a Hydrogen fuel cell to supply electricity as you drive, and therefore they have a longer range. They are the Real Deal Hybrids because if you generated your own Hydrogen at home with Solar, Wind, and Water you could be saving thousands per year on fuel, travel further, and fully save the planet by being 100-percent zero emission and energy independent.
HK: Why would people be outraged if they were more educated about hydrogen?
TN: They would be outraged as I am if they knew that the fuel cell was 171 years old and getting Hydrogen from water with electricity is 206 years old. Because they would know that we wouldn’t have to have wars for Oil, or have Climate Change, or our children getting asthma from Coal emission, or pay high energy prices. They would know that all that is totally unnecessary, because every nation is near oceans of water and therefore everyone could have unlimited Hydrogen, and be developing and living well without polluting.
And if they had Solar, Wind and a Fuel Cell, and an electrolyzer they could be generating their own gas for their car and heating, and never have to pay for electricity, heat, or car fuel ever again, and thus save thousand per year. I am trying to convince people that living this way is the true defense of every nation to save the planet and it’s also the true defense of everyone’s budget. Also you would save more money generating your own car fuel with your extra Solar and Wind, and Water off your rain gutter, than the small amount of money you get back from the power company for it. I think that people would be outraged because all that is not already happening, and could be happening, and they would act on that outrage, demand it, and start living this way.
HK: How can people use hydrogen now to make a difference?
TN: They can get their car converted to burn Hydrogen or they can put in their order for a Fuel cell car, then buy them, then drive them. They can demand Universal Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind from their Governments. They can educate themselves about it, make using it a priority, and then use it. It has taken the Green movement 40 years to become main stream, and we are still only changing light bulbs and using Coal and Oil slightly more efficiently. We can’t wait another 40 years to Go Clear. We have to do it now. Hydrogen is the solution to many of the world’s problems and is the most abundant energy source on this planet. We all have to open our minds to Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind, be given the means to access the abundant energy that is all around us, and then pick up those tools that are lying at our feet and use them.

I think that Traditionalism is killing the Planet, because that mind set is preventing new innovations and is choking the growth of Humanity. Just look at all the wars that have raged from religious fundamentalism over the centuries. It’s been traditional to rape the natural environment for our own greed without thinking of the consequences or about future generations. Coal, Oil, and Nuclear have been traditionally used to power our societies for decades, but they are killing us and our children. It used to be “traditional” to hold slaves and deny Women the vote. But all traditions, good and bad, were at one time new and only became traditions after people opened their minds to them. So Humanity is capable of Evolving and we should build on the good traditions and change our mindsets to be open to new ideas and new technologies, and stop continuing to be frozen in our dogmas.
So, what’s it going to be?
Do you want to be “traditional” and live in a house that is made of wood that can burn down and smashed by the weather, or do you want to become nontraditional and live in a house built from Earth that is disaster resistant?
Will you Change your Mind and choose go all the way to 100% Clear by living in a disaster resistant, zero emission, and energy independent home, and drive a Hydrogen fueled car? Or will you continue to be traditional and just make baby steps and only save the Planet part way by Going Green, but still efficiently using Coal and Oil?
Do you want to continue to be “traditional” or do you want to Survive?
Will you take up my challenge and take my, I’m On It! Pledge, or not?
Will you personally work to ensure that Humanity will Survive, Thrive, and Bloom? Or will you choose to give up and only watch as we continue to rush towards our own extinction with Poverty, Pollution, War, and Greed?
Will you have the courage to Be More Powerful, answer My Call to Greatness, then take action to Survive and Save the Planet, with the same passion as if you were going to War?
Will you hear my wisdom, then act on it by standing up, like they did at the end of the movie, Malcolm X, when they said, “I am Malcolm X,” except stand up and say, “Yes, I’ll Save the Planet! I’m On it!”?
How will it all end?
Will the Planet be Saved or not?

The future survival of Humanity and this Planet depends upon your answers, your commitment, and your actions.
Good Day President Obama,
I hope this letter finds you well and happy.
My name is Todd A. Norman, the author of the book, Ideas to Save the Planet. Congratulations on your election victory. I have been writing what I call Invitations to Be More Powerful for the past 11 years to famous people who I think can make a larger impact, if they only knew what I know. They are helpful letters of suggestion that are designed to effect positive change in the world and to make the receiver more effective in what they’re doing, and are one of my ideas to save the planet.
This is my Second Invitation to Be More Powerful to you. You may recall that I wrote you in 5/14/08 to give you some suggestions to make you and your campaign more powerful so you could win the nomination and lead the nation to true energy independence. I’m sorry to say that I never heard back from you or your campaign and that you never acted on them.
I am following Tavis Smiley’s advice of “Holding him Accountable” by writing again to hold you accountable and to help you and our nation to save our environment and our economy, and to help you to be more successful in your work, as well as to be worthy of your Nobel Prize and of my vote.
Thank you for calling for ideas and being open to them and I am here to answer that call. I recently heard you say that you honor Persistence. Please honor my persistence, by hearing my wisdom and acting on it. I have several suggestions for you, but the main points are regarding Health Care, Economic growth, Energy, and saving the Planet from Climate Change.
Firstly, you cannot lead from the center. You have to lead from the front. Please stop speaking so eloquently but then acting so spinelessly. A lot of the criticisms that I’ve hear about your Administration is that you are not using the power of the Presidency powerfully enough and you are making too many compromises. Please choose to be more powerful in the way you implement your vision for Change in America. You can do so by acting on my ideas and by being more specific about your ideas when you propose them. Several times during the past 11 months you have stumbled because you were not specific enough. For instance the stock market went down in February after Secretary Geithner came out with his plan for the economic recovery. Why? Because they all said that his wasn’t specific enough.
I delayed finishing the second edition of my book and this letter because I wanted to add my reaction to your address to Congress on 9/9/09. I thought it was a good speech but again it could have been more powerful. One of the reasons that I voted for you, in addition to your vote against the Iraq war, was because of your interest in getting Universal Health Care. I did not vote for you to get a government option. You are wrong about single payer, you have caved on this issue, and your popularity has gone down because of it, because the majority of Americans want a single payer health care system.
You also are now only talking about Health Coverage and not Health Care, which are not the same thing. Health Care is between us and doctors and everyone just get whatever care they need when they need it.
You also only mentioned once in your speech that people die from a lack of heath care. It sounded like an afterthought and it was a missed opportunity. You didn’t turn and look at the Republicans and say that 18,000 – 44,000 Americans Die, every year from a lack of care and that over 1,000,000 have died since 1948 when they and the AMA defeated Universal Health Care. You also didn’t say that the insurance industry is responsible for all those deaths be denying people coverage and making it too expensive for them to afford coverage and care. Also implement Health Care reform now and not in 2013, because 44,000 people a year are going to die from a lack of care over the next 4 years, which is 176,000 people.
You did mention that over half of the bankruptcies in this country were due to people’s inability to pay for the health care that they already have. But you did not say that the Insurance companies are actively pursuing bankruptcy legal action of hundreds of thousands of Americans every year.
If you have spent more time on that, instead of just barely mentioning it, it would have powerfully countered the Republicans opposition to your health care legislation and would have shamed them in front of the nation for their opposition to even the idea of ensuring that people have health care.
You have said repeatedly that having businesses pay for health care for their employees is bad for business and makes us less competitive and loses jobs. So why are you now for demanding the employers must cover all employees? Or that everyone MUST, by law, buy coverage from insurance companies? You should be putting them out of business for killing Americans instead of subsidizing them. You say that if people shop around for coverage it would lower the cost of care. I am one of those unemployed people who are very poor. I can’t afford insurance and haven’t had any for the past five years and I don’t have the money to shop for coverage. I would rather have single payer government run health care, from the taxes that I already pay, rather than subsidize insurance companies, and pay additional premiums.
You wouldn’t mandate that we all give Osama Bin Ladin money. Please don’t mandate that I buy insurance from insurance companies so they can continue to terrorize me with my own money. You should be dismantling these corporate terrorists and fighting them and other corporate powers, like Monsanto, like Theodore Roosevelt did, by enforcing the Sherman anti-trust laws.
Also you could have more powerfully rebutted all the arguments against your efforts this summer. You could have said that we already have Health Care Rationing, it’s called Managed Care! from insurance companies, which was invented by Kaiser Permante, the Republicans, and President Nixon.
Thank you for fighting back against Fox News, but please now focus on inspiring the rest of 75% of the nation and stop focusing on the very small percentage of Conservatives in the Republican Party.
Thank you for your efforts to eliminate all Nuclear weapons from this planet. But please now also add ending all Nuclear Energy as well. Please Fire your Energy Secretary Chu for advocating for Nuclear Energy, and hire Roy McAlister, the President of the American Hydrogen Association. He has been working on Hydrogen and has been converting gasoline car engines to burn Hydrogen for 45 years. Those cars clean the air as they drive, and he has proven that you can generate Hydrogen from Solar and Wind electricity and Water. Please honor his efforts and persistence and hire him to help you to lead the nation to true energy independence, national security, and economic prosperity.
I am joining Roy and others in advocating for a world powered by Solar, Wind, and Hydrogen, which are all zero emission and energy abundant. If we all had the means to access the energy that is all around us, we could stop scrounging and talking about energy conservation, waging wars for Oil, or worrying about our carbon footprints, while fully saving the economy, the planet, and our children.
I was very disappointed that you canceled all funding for Hydrogen. The Hydrogen Fuel Cell was invented 170 years ago and we have already waited too long to use them in our homes and cars. NASA has been using them for 50 years and has done great things with them like powering their computers while going to the Moon and in the Space Shuttle. They use them because Hydrogen fuel cells only have water vapor as its emission.
Thank you for recognizing our energy challenges and for wanting to fix them, but now go all the way in how you implement that intention. Go 100% Clear instead of taking baby steps by Going Green.
Here are some of my rebuttals to your Energy Plan Overview.
You have the goal of “Making the U.S. a Leader on Climate Change” but the way you are implementing that intention is terribly hesitant and isn’t going to get us there. You want to “Ensure that 10 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25% by 2025” which is a spineless goal, because you could be saying 100% by 2012.
Stop, “implementing an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050.” NASA uses Hydrogen Fuel Cells because they couldn’t afford to only “reduce emissions” in their space capsules, by 20%. They have to fully “eliminate all emission” 100% in order to survive in space. The World War II generation was not satisfied with defeating Hitler by 80% over 50 years, They did 100% of Hitler, Italy, and Japan in 3.5 years. You should leading the Nation to fight Climate Change with the same intensity as if you were going to War, and be massively funding Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind technologies like we funded war technologies in WW II.
We are not even remotely as great as our greatest generation if we cannot mobilize the nation to build and install Solar panels, Wind generators, and Hydrogen fuel cells in every home, business, and car in 4 years. We need to do this as the defense of the nation and of the economy because it would generate millions of jobs and a stronger economy than just the small amount of jobs that you are creating by Going Green or by fixing our infrastructure. We need to fix bridges, but those jobs are seasonal and temporary. If we were truly leading the world by becoming a zero emission and energy independent nation as well as by being the world’s largest Clear technology dealer instead of the world’s largest arms dealer, we would have lots more permanent year round jobs and they would last for 40-50 years, and turn around the current bad unemployment numbers. You can get started over this winter and don’t have to wait until summer.
You want to “Help create five Million new jobs by strategically investing $150 Billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future.” That is a good start, but we need a lot more money to implement Universal Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind. You and Bush gave $700 Billion to banks in only one year and even though no bankers died and 18,000 Americans die every year from air pollution. We also spent $3 Trillion on Iraq, and $12 Trillion on Nuclear weapons. People in WW II didn’t say “it’s too expensive.” They just did what it took to survive. We need to have a serious commitment to saving our children, our planet, and our economy, and spend whatever it takes and mobilize the nation like we did during WW II to do it, and do it now, not over ten years.
Do so by mobilizing the entire US government and private companies to build, install, and maintain all these Clear technologies. You want to “Provide Short-term Relief to American Families” with your stimulus spending. But if you mobilized the nation to implement Universal Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind, those manufacturing, selling, and maintaining jobs would be long term relief, because we are not only going to convert every car, home, and business in America, but also to help to convert the entire planet by become the world biggest Clear technology exporter, which would also fix our foreign trade problem.
Businesses will be more prosperous, and save money that they no longer have to spend on electricity, heat, and fuel, and doing so will be great for their marketing. They will be able to say to their customers, ‘Buy from us, we’re doing our part and we’re not polluting your children.’ Also encourage them to get rich saving the planet and defending the nation, instead of by killing it, or other people with weapons of war. Also pollution at shipping ports from diesels trucks would go away if all those trucks were converted to burn Hydrogen. In addition to putting manufacturing plants in larger cities, also put them in small towns such as in Coal, Fishing, Timber towns, so they can have safe, year round, saving the planet jobs, instead of being unemployed or killing the planet or having to have a prison or casino just to have jobs.
Also thank you for calling on us to volunteer more and to help the nation, now please expand that to mobilize the nation to implement Universal Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind. Revive the Civilian Conservation Corps, expand AmeriCorps, and even call out the National Guard to install Solar panels, Wind generators, and residential Hydrogen fuel cells, in-on every home, business, and government building. I also give you permission to steal my idea and make, I’m On it!, a national slogan. Your new posters and add campaigns could say, ‘Uncle Sam wants you - to get on it!’ or “I’m doing my part – I’m On it!” (Also please read my chapters on, Take the I’m On It! Pledge, and Honoring Everyday Heroship.)
I know that you intend to modernize our energy Grid system, but stop focusing on the Grid and energy companies, because all the money you put into to upgrading the grid is just going to get destroyed in the next hurricane Katrina, earthquakes, or by ice storms. Focus on giving the American people a bailout by giving every home and business Solar panels, small residential Wind generators, and residential Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Hydrogen gas tanks, and Hydrogen gas stations in their garages. If you did everyone would not have blackouts, it would remove power lines as a target for terrorism, and everyone would not have to pay for electricity or heat ever again. Also if you acted on Roy’s wisdom and converted every car and truck in America to Burn Hydrogen, and gave them Electrolyzers, they could generate their own gas at home with Solar, Wind, and Water and fill up their cars every morning. Thus they also would not have to pay for Gas, and save thousands of dollars a year. Which would not only save the planet, but would also save the economy because in addition to people having more money from all these new jobs building, selling, and maintaining all that technology, and they would have thousands of extra dollars a year to spend that they are no longer spending on electricity, heat, and car fuel.
You are totally wrong about Clean Coal and you should stop advocating for it and funding it. Thank you for wanting to “Deploy the Cheapest, Cleanest, Fastest Energy Source – Energy Efficiency.” But please stop talking about using Oil and Coal slightly more efficiently. We don’t need Coal anyway. Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind are energy abundant When you modernize the power grid, consider converting Coal fired power plants to Burn Hydrogen. This would be quicker and easier than building all new power plants, and if would immediately make the entire grid zero emission and energy independent, as well as smarter and more reliable.
Also stop allowing mountain top removal during Coal mining. Stop sequestering carbon dioxide gas in the ground, after we burn Coal, because it’s a total waste of money, because that gas is just going to get released by earthquakes. We need to stop burning carbon and sequester it – before we burn it – and use that carbon to make Carbon fibers and make stuff out of it instead of burning it. Carbon fibers are 10x stronger than steel and 4x lighter than aluminum. We could be leading the world in this technology, using them to build the Wind generators and Hydrogen gas tanks, and you could be using it in your efforts to fix our infrastructure and building new bridges, because they can be use to make girders that don’t rust, thus your efforts would be stronger, last longer, and be safer.
Also lead the nation by example and start by converting the White House to Solar, Wind, and Hydrogen, as well as all Federal buildings, Cars, Post offices and Congress. Convert the Washington DC Power Plant to burn Hydrogen then work to make every State and Local government zero emission and energy independent because as we learned in hurricane Katrina, we need the government to be reliably powered and up and running in emergencies, as well as to not pollute their communities with their operations.
You want to “Put 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars - cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built here in America.” and “Create a New $7,000 Tax Credit for Purchasing Advanced Vehicles.” “Establish a National Low Carbon Fuel Standard.” All that is great, but instead of working to still be efficiently using gasoline that is polluting our children you could be advocating for Hydrogen cars and converting cars to Hydrogen and using your influence with Ford and GM to make Hydrogen cars, because they all have hydrogen fuel cell prototypes. Roy McAlister and his college students have converting gasoline engines to burn Hydrogen for 45 years, and those cars clean the air as they drive. So GM and Ford with their Billions should be able to do it. Also set up conversion places like emission testing facilities and encourage all car dealerships to convert cars, so all the 300 million cars on the road can be cleaning up the air while we wait to get new fuel cell cars. Also work to manifest Hydrogen gas stations like they did in California. You could have done that instead of destroying cars in Cash for Clunkers, which was a temporary solution. Those old cars didn’t have to be destroyed, because they could have been converted to Hydrogen, for less money ($2,000), and be cleaning the air instead of filling up landfills.
You want to “Eliminate Our Current Imports from the Middle East and Venezuela within 10 Years” but that will do nothing to fight Climate Change because we will still be using Oil, just domestic Oil, instead of foreign Oil.
You want to “Promote the Responsible Domestic Production of Oil and Natural Gas.” But all that is unnecessary if you listened to me. We could be definitely striking Hydrogen in the 3 oceans of water that are all around us and have unlimited water no matter what Climate Change does to our weather pattern, by Desalinating seawater. We could be generating Hydrogen by electrifying fresh water with Solar, Wind, and Tidal power, and have a consistent, zero emission, and unlimited fuel for power plants, cars, and homes.
You want to “Prioritize the Construction of the Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline.” But that would be unnecessary if we made Desalination a priority instead because we could become truly energy independent by getting unlimited zero emission fuel from the oceans that are all around us. The US should also become the world leader in Desalination and water pipelines. Please also stop the Privatization of Water. Doing so would End Hunger, Thirst, and Poverty on this planet because every nation would have water for farming, sanitation, and fuel.
We do need to continue to do all the little “Green” things like “Weatherize One million Homes Annually.” But we also need to Go all the way, and Go Clear, directly to zero emission and 100% energy independence. Stop talking about “Reducing emissions” and starting saying “Eliminating all emissions” and becoming “Clean” not just “Cleaner.” I’m talking about you adding a 6th Star to the LEED Certification program and it should be a Clear Star. You get one if you are totally 100% Clear - Zero Emission and Energy Independent. That star should be made out of Clear Veggie Plastic. You also should expand that program to include factories.
We should be willing to go into debt for Universal Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Solar Panels, and Wind Generators, because we need to take action to Save the Planet by discontinuing to pollute the atmosphere, and to ensure the future generations have a Planet to live on at all. Also because the next generation, who has to pay for that debt, will actually get something for their money. They will get Solar panels, Wind generators, and Fuel Cells, clean air, and no more wars for Oil. Also all the millions of jobs, new business, and manufacturing companies will generate more taxes, and the stronger economy would help to pay off whatever amount of debt we have to go into. This stronger economy will also pay for Universal College, Universal Health Care, and the baby boom entitlements programs.
Stop supporting bio fuels because they still pollute and the only reason that politicians support it is because they have farmers in their districts. Farmers can be generating Hydrogen, with Solar, Wind, and Water, to operate their farms, and to sell Hydrogen to local gas stations and power plants, while still growing food. Fund them being able to do so. Also support Veggie plastics. Mandate that all plastic bags; trash bags, food containers, and packaging, and all manufactures like Glad convert to veggie plastics that degrade and compost, because plastic trash is a governmental problem because they have to pay for the trash and the health care of people who get sick from petroleum plastics.
Lead by example. You are the leader of the Democratic Party. You could be implementing my idea for a zero emission and energy independent (ZEEI) Democratic Party. You could run your reelection campaign on Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind and save the 2010 mid-term elections by mobilizing the nation and by encouraging all Democratic candidates to run ZEEI campaigns. Instead of spending hundreds of millions on stupid TV commercial, spend it on American made Clear technologies and American jobs. Do it now before it’s too late. If you do you will win over voters and totally win every election, and instead of losing seats you would gain seats, and thus be able to implement your agenda.
You can start this mobilization of the nation by making a powerful and dramatic demonstration in a Address the nation on prime time TV. Show us a Hydrogen Fuel Cell on the desk in the Oval Office and condense the water vapor off its tail pipe and drink the water in front of everyone. Then share that glass of new water with your daughters and your wife. Then tell the nation that this energy is safe and abundant and is something that we all can be proud of. You wouldn’t feed your children nuclear waste, or Coal and Oil emissions, and we should stop doing so. Give us all a tour of the White House that has now been converted to Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind. Then announce your plan to convert the rest of the nation.
Additionally, thank you for demonstrating that this is a nation that is founded on the Rule of Law and for prosecuting terrorist suspects in US courts and in US jails. But you are wrong about looking forward instead of looking back in regards to persecuting members of the Bush administration. Many of them committed multiple crimes against this nation and they deserve to go to jail for their crimes. This attitude of being fearful of even the appearance of being partisan is preventing you from acting properly. All of their crimes were due to the fact there were people in the Nixon administration, such as Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld, who were not persecuted, and they all came back to do all these recent crimes. Please do your job and defend the nation and the Constitution and do not let them get away it.
Start saying “Citizens” instead of saying “Tax Payers” because it’s divisive. Poor people are citizens too and we should stop making it all about money.
Also stop businesses from abusing credit information. People shouldn’t have to be subjected to a credit check in order to get a job. How can you get good credit if you can’t get a job?
I still have faith in you. I have the audacity to hope that you will choose to be even greater than FDR and Kennedy, and an even more powerful environmentalist than Al Gore. Please make the most of your time in office. Turn around our economy, put 100’s of millions of people to work, and turn the biggest polluting nation into a 100% zero emission and energy independent nation.
Then work to manifest a zero emission Planet. Encourage every nation to make this conversion and send Clear technologies as foreign aid and work in the UN. Our problems with Iran and Korea involve nuclear energy. You could solve them by giving them Hydrogen and desalination technologies instead, so they don’t need to use Nuclear Energy, which they can use to make Nuclear weapons. You could also demonstrate that developing nations don’t have to pollute in order to develop, by giving them the tools they need to access the abundant energy that is all around them. The EU could be energy independent and not be held hostage to Russia for its heating gas, because it could be getting its gas, Hydrogen, from the oceans that are all around them. So could China, India, Africa, and every nation, which would stop the need for wars for Oil. I’m going to tell the world about these ideas because I think that every nation needs to make these changes. You can either choose to lead the world into a zero emission future or you can follow them. You can either buy Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind from other nations or build it and sell it to them and benefit economically from doing so. You can either Lead and win politically or lose and get slapped around for your inaction.
Go all the way and lead the nation and the world into a zero emission future, because it is the true defense of the nation, economically, politically, and environmentally, and the true defense of your children. This generation can become even greater than our greatest generation, if you only lead us to save the world, again. Please answer My Call to Greatness, and take my I’m On It! Pledge, then live it, and make it the slogan of the nation. Wear an, I’m on it! button and encourage the rest of us to do the same.
Lastly on a personal note, I’ve been very poor during the last five years, have even been homeless while writing my book, and am currently unemployed. I’d like to go to work for your administration and help you to implement these ideas. Maybe I can be a consultant as your Idea-man, or a assistant to Roy McAlister in the Energy Department when you hire him. Additionally I’ve planned to build a zero emission, energy independent, and disaster resistant home for 9 years. I’m selling my book to raise the money I need to build it so I can stop being homeless, finally live out my right livelihood of being a full-time Potter and Writer, as well as to save the planet. Ideas to Save the Planet

I think that it's great that so many people are waking up to our global environmental problems, but I just think that Going Green doesn't go far enough. So I am challenging the Green Revolution to be more powerful in their goals and their language.
Because most of the time people who talk about Going Green only talk about "reducing" emissions instead of "eliminating" them, our becoming "Cleaner" not "Clean," and only being free from foreign Oil, instead of eliminating Oil completely.
They are also talking about Energy Conservation instead of Energy Abundance. There is more Wind, Solar energy all around us, and more Hydrogen in the Seawater, than all the Coal, Oil, and Nuclear energy on this planet, and it's all zero emission. If we all used Solar, Wind, and Hydrogen, we wouldn't have to conserve energy, or go without driving, heat, air conditioning, or electricity. We should have the more powerful goal of Energy Abundance, because if we lived zero emission lives we could stop scrounging, having to worry about our carbon footprints, polluting our children, or about the survival of Humanity or the Planet.
Green people are also making Energy Efficiency their primary weapon against Climate Change, which is stupid thinking. Energy Efficiency is not what is polluting your children! Coal and Oil is polluting them and killing thousands of people every year. If we utilized the zero emission and Abundant Energy sources that all around us, it wouldn't matter if we used them inefficiently. What would you be wasting? Sunshine, Wind, Tidal, Wave, Hydrogen from Rain Water, or Seawater? We need to stop wasting time and money on stupid baby steps like changing light bulbs. We need to go directly to Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind, zero emissions and energy abundance, and stop killing the Planet or ourselves with pollution, then argue about efficiency later. Rather than finding ways to continue to pollute ourselves, slightly less efficiently.
I agree with other people, that instead of burning carbon we should be getting the carbon out of methane, when you get the hydrogen out of it, and make stuff out of that carbon, like tennis rackets, golf clubs, and car bodies. You can also buy carbon fiber shoes right now on the internet. So we all should have the goal of living zero emission, energy independent, energy abundant lives, so we can stop worrying about our emissions, and start wearing carbon fiber shoes and making REAL CARBON FOOTPRINTS!
To help manifest such a future I'm suggesting that Bono wear Carbon Fiber Boots when he says, Get Your Boots On!
I'm talking about inviting the world to go all the way with their intention to save the planet and to Go Clear! That is, go all the way to 100% zero emission and 100% energy independence, by converting their cars to burning hydrogen or driving a hydrogen fuel cell cars, and power their homes with Solar panels, Wind generators, and residential Hydrogen fuel cells.
It's possible to live this way and has been for decades already. We just have to decide to live Clearly. Then demand these technologies from our Governments and businesses, because it's the true defense of every nation. The survival of Humanity and the Planet depends on it.

Go All the Way and “Go Clear” Instead of Only “Going Green,” Because It’s More Effective in Saving the Planet
People are saying that it's going to take another 20-50 years to get the Hydrogen Economy and a Hydrogen Fuel Cell car.
I want to say those people,
"We as a nation survived the Great Depression then mobilized the entire nation to build planes, tanks, bullets, and even Nuclear bombs and won World War II, a War that killed 70 million people, and Saved the World in only 3.5 years. That's why our grand parents are called the Greatest Generation.
The Hydrogen Fuel Cell was invented in 1839, 170 years ago. The Electrolyzer, that generates Hydrogen from Water, was invented in 1805, 204 years ago.
During these 170 years we have overcome the huge evils of Slavery and Segregation, won 2 World Wars, achieved great technological feats like building the Golden Gate Bridge, the Interstate Highway System, and we went to the Moon in only 10 years.
Are you seriously saying that we can do all that, but it's going to take another 50 years, making it 220 years, just to get a Hydrogen powered car and home?
We don’t need a Manhattan Project and spend billions on researching new energy technologies, because everything we need already exists.
I think that this generation could be even Greater than our Greatest Generation if we only made fighting Global Warming and Saving the World, again, a National Priority, by converting to the zero emission energy independent Hydrogen, Solar, Wind, and Water Economy. Then mobilized the nation to build and install this technology, like they did to build planes, tanks, and bullets in World War II.
If we mobilized this way the United States could fully convert to Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind in only 4 years, not in 50.
We have more people, more money, and higher technology than the WWII generation had.
Which is harder? Defeating Hitler and Japan and waging war all over the globe, or building and installing Solar panels, Wind generators, and Fuel Cells in/on every home, building, business, and car, just in the United States?
Obviously saving the Planet from Global Warming with Hydrogen, Solar, Wind, and Water would be easier.
Then we can help the rest of the World to live sustainably by spreading Clear technologies like Solar, Wind, and Hydrogen, instead of weapons of Death. We also help the world to Desalinate of the Oceans of Water that is all around us and every nation, and build Water Pipelines from every coast on earth, instead of Oil pipelines, which fuels this new Water Economy.
I'm talking about modernizing every Home, Building, Business, Factory, Government Building, Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Train, Plane, Bus, Boat etc... full conversion to clean Power and Fuel - Worldwide. Creating a Zero Emission Energy Independent Planet.
Thus we could Save the World, again, by Ending Global Warming, Ending Hunger and Thirst, and Wars for Food, Water, and Oil, but this time without killing 70 million people.
American Revolution mobilized everyday people and the WW II generation already proved that such mobilization is possible.
We just have to regain the Political and Moral Will, and Choose to be Great again!
The survival of our homes, our children, our economy, our country, and our Planet depends on it.
So let’s Get On it!

(I’ve first wrote that in 2006 and have added to it, edited it, and updated the dates since. Al Gore said a similar speech in his movie, An Inconvenient Truth, but I wrote this before I saw his movie. I think my version is more powerful because I’m calling for more specific action than Al Gore did.

Al Gore and Barack Obama are only talking about converting the nation in 10 years and our being free from foreign Oil, and not fully converting in the 4 years and our eliminating all Oil, as I am. So I am still speaking more powerfully that both of them. I wish they would speak and act more Powerfully than I am and I have been trying to get them to, for years. But at least they are making an effort to mobilize the nation. Hopefully they will finally go all the way in that intention, to 100% zero emissions, and we all will succeed in saving the planet before it's too late.)
