Thank you for your very important work to mobilize the world to fight global warming.
My name is Todd Norman, and I am the author of the book Ideas to Save the Planet.
I have some ideas that can End Global Warming, End Hunger and Thirst, and lead to a Zero Emission Energy Independent Planet. Please make the following ideas a part of your discussions during the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Conference and do what you can to make living this way a global priority.
Please advocate for Zero Emission and Energy Abundant Hydrogen, Solar, and Wind and the Desalination of Seawater.
Everyone can generate their own Hydrogen gas from Solar panels, Wind generators, and Electrolyzers, and Water. Then power their homes with the triple back up of Solar, Wind and Hydrogen and never have a black out again. Then fill up their cars with gas they produced themselves, and living zero emission and energy independent lives.
The Hydrogen fuel cell was invented in 1839, 170 years ago and getting Hydrogen from Water was invented in 1805, 204 years ago. We are just not making it a priority to implement these technologies worldwide, because we are too focused on taking baby steps and efficiently using Coal and Oil. We need to go directly to 100% zero emissions instead.
We could be Ending Hunger and Thirst, and Ending the expansion of deserts, as well as Ending Climate Change by fueling the Hydrogen economy, by everyone around the world Desalinating seawater and distributing fresh water via pipelines, rail lines, or trucks, to anywhere water is needed. This would also water new plants, grass, and trees that will absorb carbon, cool the planet, while stopping deserts from expanding. This would also End Droughts and Famines no mater what global warming does to the weather patterns, because and people could have permanent fresh water to grow their own food, have drinking water, sanitation, and fuel their homes and cars with Hydrogen gotten from that water. It is totally stupid for anyone to say that there is a Water shortage on this planet when there is more Water than anything else. We just have to take the salt out if it and distribute it wherever we need it. Please talk about Water abundance, work to make it a reality for everyone, and stop the privatization of Water. People can get rich building and installing Desalination plants and Water pipelines, but then shouldn’t be able to own the water flowing thru them.
If everyone lived this way, we wouldn’t need Oil or Coal anymore and developing countries wouldn’t have to go without or pollute in order to develop. Every nation on the Planet can be getting their own zero emission fuel, Hydrogen, from the oceans that are rising all around them.
Also all factories and power plants can be converted to Burn Hydrogen gas instead or Oil or Coal, which would quickly make all grids and factories zero emission.
All cars can be converted to Hydrogen fuel cells or to burn Hydrogen gas. The first gasoline car to be converted to Hydrogen was in 1920, 89 years ago.
All nations need to mobilize their factories to build their own Solar, Panels, and Fuel Cells, and fuel cell cars, and create jobs for their people building, selling, installing, and maintaining these technologies on all their people’s homes and improve the standard of living of their people, and solve issues like poverty and immigration, as well as pollution.
Also please talk about and advocate for re-salinating the oceans. If everyone around the world were desalinating seawater, they will be producing lots of salt. We should be mobilizing the world to dump that salt back into the oceans, into the North Sea where there is a problem with the oceans becoming too desalinated from all the fresh water from ice melting, which could solve the problem of the change in the circulation of the oceans currents.
