I have been advocating for Super Adobe homes for over 11 years and I plan to build one with the money I make from my book sales.
They are homes built from continuous sand bags filled with earth and cement, like logs of earth instead of logs of wood. They use 95% less wood and are earthquake, fire, wind, hail, flood, mold, and mildew resistant.
They have already passed the earthquake codes in California, and the machine that shook the test house, broke, but the house survived.
They are wind resistant because they don't have a wooden roof to blow off, and are fire resistant because there is almost nothing to burn in them and they will turn to brick before they burn down.
Even these homes would not totally resist a Tsunami like this one. But they are still a better way to live and to protect your family and the planet.
You can also build emergency shelters in your backyard using this method.
These homes may not look "traditional", but as I say in my chapter, Take The I'm On It! Pledge, do you want to be Traditional or do you want to Survive?
Super Adobe homes are a way to save forests and save lives, and that's why I'm advocating for them as an idea that can save humanity and the planet, and also because I believe that living in zero emission, energy independent, and disaster resistant homes is the true defense of every child, family, and nation.
