Burn Hydrogen, instead of Coal, Oil, or Natural Gas.
I've been researching Hydrogen for 12 years and I found out that you can burn hydrogen gas and it only has water vapor as it's emission. NASA has been burning liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen as rocket fuel to get into space, for over 50 years. The Sun has been fueled by hydrogen for 4.5 billion years. Hydrogen is also the most abundant element in the universe and on this planet, in water.
So all life in this planet has been dependent on hydrogen, and I think that we should follow the universe's example by using the abundant energy that is all around us.
(Also we can produce hydrogen cleanly with electricity from solar, wind, and water, without using coal, oil, natural gas, or nuclear.)
So I made the connection that we could be burning hydrogen to cook or melt stuff, and to generate electricity with zero emissions.
Then I found out that it's already happening. There are already stoves, fake fire places, kilns, and hot water heaters being converted to burn hydrogen.
In my book and in my chapter, Burning Hydrogen, Instead of Oil, Coal, or Natural Gas, I am advocating for converting all pottery and brick kilns, water heaters, heaters, and factories to burn hydrogen.
(Also hydrogen fuel cells can power electric pottery kilns and electric steel and aluminum smelters.)
Many of these ideas are starting to manifest and here are some videos I found on Youtube that either demonstrate that these ideas are already happening or prove that they could be done if we apply existing technology into different applications.
I found out the all cars can be converted to burn 100% hydrogen gas and they clean the air as they drive, by burning up existing pollution as it goes through the Hydrogen flame in the engine. Here are 2 videos of Roy McAlister the President of the American Hydrogen Association, who has been converting cars to hydrogen for 45 years, driving one.
Burning hydrogen can take recycling to the next level. Because all recycling centers could be powered by solar, wind, and hydrogen fuel cells. Also the trucks that picks up the stuff could be converted to burn hydrogen and be cleaning the air everywhere they go, so could the trucks that take the sorted recycling stuff to the factories, and the factories could be powered by solar, wind, and hydrogen. Factories could all be burning hydrogen to melt all the cans, glass, and plastic. And the trucks that take the new products to the store could be burning hydrogen and be cleaning the air everywhere they go. Thus making the entire recycling process 100% zero emission and energy independent.
I also found out that hydrogen and oxygen can be used in blow torches and welders and they are very hot and also zero emission. So we could be using these torches to replace other polluting torches, and to recycle and cut up things like building girders, train track, old cars, and re-bar, as well as artillery guns, tanks, and nuclear bombs, when we finally decide turn our swords into plow shears.
I also occurred to me that we could be converting all existing coal and natural gas power plants to burn hydrogen, by just changing the burners and the fuel, which would be easier than taking the time and money to build all new power plants, and it would instantly make all grids 100% zero emission.
If we woke up to this possibility we also would no long need to waste billions on dangerous nuclear power plants, that take years to build, are expensive, produce deadly waste that lasts for millions of years and can be turned into nuclear weapons, and that are vulnerable to terrorism and natural disaster, like earthquakes, like what just happened in Japan where an earthquake a tsunami as caused a terrible accident.
This video is of a guy starting up the hydrogen/oxygen flames of a very large artificial gem kiln, which shows that we could be doing the same in power plants.
In the video below a guy is boiling some water with a hydrogen and oxygen flame and stove, which is what coal, natural gas, and nuclear power plants do. They boil water and the steam turns turbines, which generate electricity, thus it proves that this idea is possible and safe.
We just have to make it a priority to convert all power plants, because a large percentage of the world's pollution comes from burning coal and natural gas still pollutes and is damaging to water aquifers with millions of gallons of toxic hydraulic fracturing fluids when they drill for it. Also when you convert cars and power plants to burn natural gas, its only a small step to convert them to burn hydrogen. If we converted all power plants to burn hydrogen all that pollution would be eliminated, not just reduced, and we could stop destroying mountains to mine coal, stop acid rain, stop destroying water aquifers, and the developing nations could develop without polluting.
Those are examples of my paying attention and thinking creatively about what's possible, and I'm glad to see that some of theses ideas are starting to manifest.
These videos also prove that you don't have to be an expert to make the connections that I'm making.
Additionally as you can see, none of these people were killed in hydrogen explosions and they prove that hydrogen can be used safely.
Please help me in spreading the word about these ideas and to implement them globally.
I've been an activist for 15 years. I'm selling my book not only to save the planet, but to save my own life and to raise the money I need to live out my own advice by building a zero emission, energy independent, and disaster resistant home, that I've been planning for 12 years.
